My new site is in progress at http://broome.directrouter.com/~picassap/
Moving around a lot growing up, and experiencing different cultures has made me see the beauty in most things. I traveled the world by age 9, and was extremely influenced by the Japanese aesthetic, as I spent 10 years living in Tokyo.
I appreciate bold lines and colors. I embrace images that evoke happy memories or that mirror glimpses of my travels. I also love to paint commissions for clients that are very personal. Each piece has a different story behind it, but they are all made with the intent to bring happiness to each viewer.
Most photos of me as a child, I am coloring or painting. I believe that you should look to what made you happiest in your youth and continue that through adulthood. Painting brings me peace. I first began painting so I would have something to hang on my walls, as no art really caught my attention. 10 years later, my walls are bare, but my paintings are hanging in homes and offices from the U.S. to Asia. I am so blessed to have found something that I feel good about doing and others can appreciate. I feel lucky to have sold over 160 paintings, and grateful for all the support my clients have given me throughout the years.
Referrals are about 90% of my business and I’m touched by each of the testimonials my clients have written. A painting is a gift that is for life.
I have also been professionally involved in graphic arts, design and marketing communications since I received my degree in Fine Arts in 1997.
I have experience with a full range of integrated marketing communication materials from consumer to corporate, the web to print, logotypes to packaging, etc. I also write and illustrate baby books for my friends.
I have shows at different venues throughout the year. In 2009, I have had shows at Bar Basic, The Ramsden Gallery, North Park Nights, Ray at Night, Thrusters Lounge, The Coffee Cup Cafe, Java Jones and more. I enjoy volunteering in my free time at St.Vincents, The Polinsky Center and with Seniors Citizens.
